What to do in Llandudno

The vintage pier at Llandudno, North Wales | Glan Clwyd Isa

Llandudno is the quintessential British seaside town. Nestled between two headlands the sweeping sea front arcs around gracefully, with the classic pier heading out across the depths.

Here are what we think are 4 great reasons to stay in North Wales and make a special day trip to Llandudno!

1. Fish ‘n Chips on the Sea Front

As we’ve already alluded to, this is the classic British seaside setting and it just wouldn’t be right without the nation’s favourite dish! There’s plenty of chip shops around, so find yourself a space on the immaculately kept bench seating, or even on the beach itself, gaze out to sea and enjoy – just look out for the cheekier seagulls!!

2. The Great Orme

This place has something for everyone! A mini-mountain, the Great Orme has a country park, a dry ski slope, a fantastic family toboggan run, a cable car and there’s even a cafe right at the top. The views from the head of the Orme are simply staggering – pack a good camera!

3. Venue Cymru

Llandudno’s hub for the arts is Venue Cymru; a modern purpose built structure that is home to musical concerts, live performances, stage productions, box office cinema and more.

There’s always a huge choice on the Venue Cymru calendar and it’s definitely worth checking what’s on in advance of a holiday in the North Wales area.

4. The Sunsets

If you time it just right, both the beach front and the Orme are both incredible places to catch the most phenomenal sunsets and feel at one with nature.
